Maryland Transit Administration

Since the mid-1990s, the Maryland State Highway Administration and the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) have been working in partnership to assess a series of multi-modal improvements in Montgomery and Frederick Counties as part of the I-270/US 15 Multi-Modal Corridor Study. After more than a decade working together on a single multi-modal project, the highway and transit elements of the I-270/US 15 Multi-Modal Corridor Study will advance in separate, but coordinated, tracks.

In anticipation of this change, the MTA has begun a public outreach campaign to inform area residents about the CCT and its benefits beyond any potential highway improvements. Meetings have been and continue to be held with area homeowners and community groups. In addition, informational tables have been set up at area shopping centers where information on the CCT and MTA services in the region has been distributed. MTA has also recently developed a new transit-only website (www.mta.maryland.gov/cct) where residents can learn more about the CCT as it proceeds through the Federal approval process. A CCT NEWS newsletter has also been published.

The Multi-Modal website will continue to be available and updated regularly as the highway and transit efforts progress until such time when the highway and transit elements warrant separate websites.
