Public Meetings

2002 Public Hearing

Formal public hearings were held in Montgomery County and Frederick County in June 2002, inviting the public to comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement. A presentation was conducted and a forum for public testimony was made available. Prior to the hearing, a workshop was held where citizens were able to review project displays and have one-on-one discussions with project staff about their concerns and ideas.

2004 ETL Open Houses

In June 2004, open houses were held in both counties to introduce express toll lanes to the communities. At that time, express toll lanes were a new concept in project design and funding.

2008 Workshops

Additional workshops are planned for 2008 to present the results of the Alternatives Analysis/Environmental Assessment and update citizens on the project’s progress.
